Considerations When Making My Music Video.

When making my music video, I have looked at Coldplay's original video 'Paradise' and I have considered taking some aspects of the video and making them my own in my video.

The use of cardboard cut out's of 'para' 'para' 'paradise' I believe is effective and different and will hopefully create a unique aspect to my video.

However, certain aspects of the video like the band being dressed in Elephant suits I will not use.  This is due to the idea that I do not want to physically copy the official music video but recreate a new video which will be my own.

Main Actor.

This will be my main actor in my music video, Harry Jones. I have chosen him because he has experience singing and performing in front of a camera and will therefore feel comfortable in a video shoot environment.

Furthermore, Harry's has had experience singing this artists genre in which I wish to create my music video to.  This will help as he will hopefully enjoy the music whilst in the filming stage of my advanced portfolio and will thus mean he will understand what I want from the style of genre and similar creativity to the artist.

Harry is a lot younger than the artist I am asking him to imitate, however, depending on the lighting, clothing, props etc. I think that I will be able to make him look older and closer to the age of the artist in mind.

However, Harry is not my only actor I will be using for my video.  Currently I am in the process of creating my storyboard and as I continue on it, I believe I will need a few more minor actors to appear in my video to keep to the whole idea of Coldplay's Paradise.  This is because in the official music video Coldplay is a band and I will keep to this idea and will thus need to consider casting 2-3 other people to appear in my music video.

Request To Use My Chosen Song.

I have contacted Coldplay's headoffice to ask permission if I can use their song 'Paradise' in my Alevel Media Studies Coursework.
